Planning & Development Services
The City of Claremore Planning & Development Department helps to guide growth and development within the city’s corporate limits. For inquiries on properties outside of the corporate limits of the City of Claremore, direct your inquiries to the Rogers County Planning Commission at 200 S. Lynn Riggs Blvd. in Claremore or by calling 918-923-4874.
It actively works with a number of agencies, including Claremore Industrial & Economic Development Authority (CIEDA), Rogers County, Indian Nation Council of Goverments (INCOG), Grand Gateway Economic Development Authority (GGEDA), and a variety of governmental and non-profit agencies to coordinate efforts and ensure good practices and compliance. The department serves as staff representative to the City of Claremore-Rogers County Metropolitan Area Planning Commission and the Claremore Board of Adjustment.
The department consists of four divisions:
- Planning & Zoning - encompasses a broad spectrum of policies, programs, and resources with the goal of furthering the welfare of people and their communities by creating convenient, equitable, healthful, efficient, and attractive environments for present and future generations. This includes subdivision platting, land use and zoning, land development, long and short range planning, annexation, and sign regulation. The Comprehensive Plan and other short range plans and utility plans are the guiding documents for staff and the public.
- Permits & Inspections - assist in ensuring the safe construction and buildings in compliance with the adopted building codes and ordinances.
- Code Enforcement - addresses concerns related to zoning violations, nuisances, property maintenance, water conservation, and other related issues.
- GIS Mapping - creates and provides relevant, easy to use mapping applications and spatial data for the public.
To plan for the needs of present and future generations and facilitate orderly development so that Claremore and its people thrive.
