A lifelong resident of Claremore, Terry Willis was appointed to his Ward III seat in January 2011, and then elected to the seat in the April 2011 election. His professional background consists of a career in human resources and safety management. He is currently employed at GEA Rainey as Human Resources Manager. From 2007 - 2013, he served as a board member for the Northeast Workforce Investment Board of Oklahoma. He has volunteered with the Claremore Police Department's Citizens Police Academy since 2006 (including starting its Alumni Association), and he currently volunteers with the Rogers County Sheriff’s Department (since 2009) as Mounted Patrol Unit Logistics Officer (Reserve Deputy).
Terry graduated from Sequoyah High School, and holds both an Associate of Arts in Law and Justice (Criminal Justice option) from Rogers State University and a Bachelor of Science in Human Resources Management from Oklahoma Wesleyan University in Bartlesville. He has also taken a graduate course in Homeland Security Policy Analysis through Eastern Kentucky University and completed numerous continuing education courses in the areas of human resources, workforce development, occupational safety and public safety.
